Buggs has been in private business for the past 28 years with his own company: BEN BUGGS ASSOCIATES, a financial marketing consulting firm. Buggs has worked in the newspaper advertising, insurance, banking, financial services, collections, income tax preparations, high tech marketing, and telemarketing industries with companies such as First Interstate Bank, John Hancock Insurance, Wells Fargo Bank, Providian Financial, Discovery Mortgage Loans, ADT Home Security Systems, EarthLink Internet Company, State of CA Lotto and Franchise Tax Board, CTB-McGraw Hill educational testing, K-Designers home improvements, Slocan House Group Home, Trendwest Resorts,CAS Systems, EMH Marketing Research, EARTHtel non-profit fundraising, and the Berkeley Daily Planet newspaper.

Buggs NOW works for  Wells Fargo in Concord, CA. as an Inbound Sales Specialist in the Online Banking department providing services for consumers or businesses.

Benjamin is a former member of the Board of Directors for the African-American Shakespeare Company in San Francisco, Benjamin is a former member of the Board of Directors for the BERKELEY FOOD AND HOUSING PROJECT "BFHP". Buggs was appointed to the position of seasonal "Inspector" with Alameda County for a voting district poll in the Voting & Elections department. Buggs was past elected to the Supervisory Committee of the Board for the Church's Co-op Credit Union in Sacramento. Buggs is a former member and Secretary of the Board of Directors for Breaking Barriers Community Resource Center an agency for catastrophic illnesses (HIV & Cancer) in Sacramento.

Benjamin has been licensed as a Lay Eucharistic Minister with Trinity Cathedral Church in Sacramento, where he taught Sunday school, lectured, ushered, was on the PIE Committee and served as the Volunteer Coordinator for the church's outreach ministry at Loaves & Fishes homeless shelter.

Benjamin completed LAW SCHOOL in Sacramento after playing professional basketball. Benjamin is active in the alumni associations for UOP-University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA and CA State University- Sacramento
