On Friday 10/7, we served 57 families, representing 157 individuals. Of those only 3 were new families. 23 asked for a received prayer. One of the most remarkable things happened during this Friday. As things wound down toward 6:00pm, Ben noticed a young boy walking along the railroad tracks and invited him in. He gave him some food and talked to him a bit. The boy seemed a bit lost and didn?t say much. As he seemed to reluctantly leave, one of the FBCV volunteers who had JUST ARRIVED JUST MINUTES before, quickly walked up behind him and asked if she could pray for him. During her prayer for him, he accepted Jesus Christ into his life as his Lord and Savior. On Friday 10/14, we served 69 families, representing 209 individuals. Of those, 10 were new families. 21 asked and received prayer. This Friday an enthusiastic prayer warrior was only able to make it for the last 20 minutes, the MINUTE she walked in was the exact moment a woman came up who wanted prayer. God continues to make his presence known in this ministry and we feel so blessed. We have had the tremendous blessing of having both a truck and a laptop computer donated to Faith Food Fridays, both of which will be extremely useful in transporting food/Food Bank distributions and for (finally!) putting in 17 weeks of Faith Food Fridays client data. We expect to receive a $188 check from Wells Fargo any day now from Mary Ann?s department rummage sale. We applied for and will check on status for a $1500 and $250 event donation request from Wells Fargo. Mary Ann will check with her boss re: the Boy Scout food donation overage he mentioned. Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano has upped our monthly budget to $500 which will help greatly as we hand out each week all of the food we have on hand. The Thanksgiving Day dinner drive continues but we really need to seek donations more actively to make sure this happens. Weekly volunteer numbers has increased DRAMATICALLY in the last few weeks, we have a few non-FBCV members each week who are faithful and greatly add to the ministry. We shot footage during the week of 10/10-10/14 of the Monday, Thursday night and Friday distribution for a 30 second Vcat Public Service Announcement and for the 2-3 minute video to be shown as part of FBCV Missions Month.
